These are by far my favorite Christmas cookies of all time. My grandma made them with my mom. My mom made them with me. I make them with Maple. They are not gluten free, not vegan, and not healthy. They are nothing short of the greatest cut out cookies ever invented. You’ll just have to make them with someone you love to find that out for yourself.
> 1-1/2 cups confectioners sugar
> 1 cup butter
> 1 egg
> 1-1/2 tsp vanilla
> 2-1/2 cups flour
> 1 tsp cream of tarter
> Mix sugar and butter. Add egg and vanilla. Mix well. Mix dry ingredients and blend in. Refrigerate 2-3 hours. Roll out. Cut out. Bake on cookie sheet 7-8 minutes in a 350 degree oven. Cool before frosting.
>Frosting: 1/2 bag confectioners sugar, 1 stick butter, splash of milk, dribble of vanilla.
